A handbook for the heart and soul
by Annohrtamus
A message from the publisher
This book is dedicated to the memory of my mother, Anna Nelle Phipps Ohrt.
You may have noticed the word “Annohrtamus” and wondered what it means. This is my mother’s pen name. She believed that her writings were written in partnership with the hand of God. In humility, she desired a certain level of authorship anonymity and created the clever nom de plume, “Ann-Ohrt-amus”.
It was always my mother’s dream to someday have her poetry published. Why she never pursued that goal during her lifetime, I don’t really know. In her final months of life, I felt compelled to make her dream become a reality. Unfortunately, she passed away before this book was completed. As sad as that was for me, I believe she knew I would follow through and accomplish her desire, regardless of her earthly presence.
My mother always said every poem she wrote was divinely inspired. As a young girl, I can remember how she would wake up in the middle of the night, and jot down the verses that were revealed to her. Her heart was touched to encourage and empower others to believe in themselves. I can still hear her soft voice telling me, “You can accomplish anything you desire. Believe. Through God all things are possible.” Mom was a strong Christian woman and I truly feel blessed to have had such a positive role model in my life. It is my hope that the words written in this book will reveal to you the true magnificence that awaits your life, once you become inspired and begin developing a strong relationship with your higher power. Allow your heart to be touched!
My family had a large collection of old photographs and other memorabilia that I have been storing for quite some time. I have included a few of these in this book, as I thought it was time to create and share the legacy. You, too, may have been left with similar items that you just aren’t sure what to do with. In my experience, these items usually end up being stored in a box and either handed down from generation to generation or discarded. I want to encourage you to share your heritage. Create a scrapbook for sharing your memories and develop a legacy!
During the creation of this book, I found a handwritten note from my mother. She wrote of her hope to have proceeds from her published book contributed to the welfare of children. To make my mother’s wish come true, a portion of the proceeds from this book will be donated to various national children’s charities. I couldn’t think of a more fitting memorial than to provide additional funding to a variety of programs that offer children the possibility of experiencing their lives with hope, strength and joy.
Finally, since these poems were a “gift” to my mother, it seems only fitting that this book be shared with you as a special present to your heart from hers.
Blessings,

One of the inspirations included in this gift book
Into each life 'tis said, "A little rain must fall".
But into the lives of some it seems, There is rain enough for all.
