What readers are saying...

“Rarely do I come across a story that is truly special, Divine Inspirations is one. This is not a book, but a gift that demands everyone’s attention. What a perfect way to reach out to those special people in your life. Give a copy to your friends and family, it will be a gift worth remembering.”

“Divine Inspirations is the finest poetry. Pieces sliced from life and filtered through a mother's heart and soul. The smell of Spring Rains, the joy of Our Baby Girl, the quiet of Twilight Time, the devotion of Don, My Valentine, and contemplation of The Road Beyond Tomorrow. It engages the eager reader with fresh vistas and inspired visions of the everyday’s and special times within a loving family. You won't be able to close it's covers once you open them.”

“I had the pleasure of knowing Miss Ann the last few years of her life. Her friendship was like a masterfully hand sewn quilt, the colorful textures of which are reflected in this beautiful book. Miss Ann was wise with years of prayer, tenacious with God inspired insights and sharp with truthful wit. While I only knew her briefly, she gave me a gift of lifelong hope and courage.  I witnessed her physical decline until she went to be with the Lord, but I never saw her strong spirit waiver.

I realized when my good friend, her daughter Ellen, shared with me the discovery of the treasure trove of writings Miss Ann had left, that I was about to inherit something special too. This collection of Miss Ann’s inspirations will bless you as they have blessed my family and my life.”

“When Ellen came into my store and told me of her wish to preserve and print her mothers’ writings, I was impressed. Having been blessed with a mother who left me her Bible filled with her thoughts and insights, I knew first hand how important they are. After twenty-two years in business, it takes a lot to impress an “old retailer”, but I was impressed! With this book, from its artwork and design, to its content, she has captured the adoration and admiration she felt for her mother. This book is indeed “Divine”!”

“I am truly blessed for I was touched by the Hands and Heart of Ann most of my life. She personally recited her poems to me when I faced many trials in my life.   She was an amazing lady...  Now I will forever hold her in my Hands and Heart through her "Divine Inspirations."  This beautiful little gift book reminds us of how very precious Family, Friends, and Life really are!  I will cherish Ann's poems forever.”

Michelle Tyre – The first person to purchase the book, Divine Inspirations. She is standing in front of the home in which the author and her family lived for many years. This home was built in the early 1940’s by the author’s husband and is mentioned in the book. Michele lives just a few houses down the street from this home.

Ellen with Raye Bobell. Raye was good friends with the author and her family for many years. They were neighbors. Raye remembers watching Ann & Don build their home in Renchville, Illinois. She was excited to receive a book.

"We loved the book! Every once in awhile, a book grips one's heart. Divine Inspirations did just that. Ellen Ohrt Delano shares with us heart-stirring intimate insights, through her Mothers works. Ann's writings remind each of us of the things we loved and admire most about our own Mothers. Ann's quiet faith and strength are woven powerfully, through her gentle writings. Meeting Ellen, we got a little glimpse of what Ann Ohrt must have really been like, because she is a true Joy! When a customer asks us to recommend a book for a special loved one, “Divine Inspirations" just naturally comes to mind!"

Divine Inspirations is truly inspiring!  In the time that I have known Ellen Delano I have watched the joys and sorrows she has experienced during the last years of her parents’ lives.  This compilation of her mother’s work, the heart and soul of Annohrtamus, is the most touching and inspirational book I have read in a long time.  The history, life, and love depicted in this book transcends the generations of Ellen’s family.  If Annohrtamus were able to publish this book during her lifetime, it would have been with the same care and detail as Ellen has accomplished.  Diving Inspirations will touch your soul!”

Ellen with her very “special” friend, Lori Fahnestock. Lori and Ellen have been friends for over 40 years! Lori was especially excited to receive a book as she knew the author and remembers talking to Ann about many of her writings, which often times were inspirational to her.

"Divine Inspirations" is a new American classic book of poetry. Its name says it all. It has been my experience that when my customers flip through the pages, they just happen to go to a poem that touches their lives and hearts. For me, I read it one morning while drinking my coffee. I finished a whole pot and the book makes me laugh, think and cry tears of joy and sadness. I feel like I know the author. Her life story in the back of the book is what a true American story should be. Hard work, love and living, and having strong faith. I have found that once this book is picked up that it is like holding a special journal that we have been given permission to enjoy. It is very intimate and thought provoking, and just about the nicest thing that a daughter could do to honor her mother. I know it will be a hit!
